West Yellowstone Ice Skating Rink & Sledding Hill (Weather Permitting). Skate rentals are available at WestMart (100 S Faithful St, open Friday, 8:00AM-5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00AM-Noon. Closed Sunday.) The rink is located at Pioneer Park at the corner of Gibbon Ave. & Dunraven St.

Open Daily Scavenger Hunt Pick up your clues at the KNS Headquarters at the West Yellowstone Visitor Center at 30 Yellowstone Avenue and venture around the town to find the hidden treasures. Take pictures of what you find and show them to the coordinator at the headquarters by 2pm Sunday for your prize!

9:15 AM Rendezvous Nordic Ski Race
The race will be limited to the first one thousand participants registered. The entry fee includes participation in the race, bail-out shuttles along the course, aid stations, finish area food and refreshments as well as race souvenirs and promotional materials. The entry fee also includes admission to the Awards Ceremony and dessert to be held at the West Yellowstone Holiday Inn. Registration closes Thursday, March 3 at Noon. 10:00AM "Birds of Prey" Presentation - FREE
Join a naturalist from the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center for a presentation featuring live raptors! Meet some of our resident, non-releasable raptors and discover the adaptations that help them to survive our Yellowstone winters. Located at the West Yellowstone Visitor Center, 30 Yellowstone Avenue.
10:00AM Snowshoe Walk with a NPS Ranger (2hr) - FREE
Discover Yellowstone’s fascinating winter ecology while wearing snowshoes. Join a ranger for a 2-mile walk into Yellowstone National Park along the Riverside Trail. Meet at the West Yellowstone Visitor Information Center at the corner of Yellowstone Avenue and Canyon Street in West Yellowstone, Montana. no experience necessary. Also bring water and a snack. For information, please call 307-344-2876. Allow 2 hours for the program. A limited number of snowshoes are available free of charge from the Chamber (first come, first serve) or others can be rented at: Freeheel & Wheel, Bud Lilly’s and Yellowstone Alpen Guides. Feel free to bring your own snowshoes as well. Not recommended for small children.
11:00AM Kids Ice Fishing Camp - FREE
Ice Camp consists of in-class and on-ice fishing tutorials delivered by experienced, Pro and local fisherman. The curriculum promotes safety, conservation and environmental stewardship. Sponsors provide equipment for the activity, and kids who sign up and participate receive complimentary ice fishing rods. Children should be accompanied by an adult and be dressed for an outside adventure. Only 25 slots are available. Pre-register on the Contact Page on the website. Free lunch and hot chocolate after on-ice activities. Location: Kirkwood Resort & Marina Boathouse. Kids from 6 - 11 years old can try out a child-sized Arctic Cat/Yamaha M120 Snowmobile setup for a slow, safe ride. All children must be accompanied by an adult and the adult must sign a release of liability. Recommend snow boots and gloves. Helmets provided. Location: Pioneer Park at the corner of Gibbon Ave. & Dunraven St.
2:00PM Afternoon Talk with a Park Ranger FREE
Location: Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center. Join a ranger for a 45 minute program highlighting a fascinating aspect of Yellowstone’s natural, cultural, or scenic wonders. Program descriptions will be posted in the West Yellowstone Visitor Information Center (corner of Yellowstone Ave. and Canyon St.), and at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center at 201 South Canyon Street. Talks are free and open to the public. There is a fee to visit the rest of the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.
2:30PM Owl Pellets – GWDC - FREE
Dissect real owl pellets and learn about what these native predators eat during the winter months.  We will have limited amounts of owl pellets, but families can work together for this hands-on exploratory program.
3:00PM "Yellowstone" Movie at the Yellowstone Giant Screen
FREE for kids 12 & Under, with reduced admission for adults with coupon available at the Headquarters (Visitor Center). Located at 101 South Canyon, next to the Visitor Center.
6:00PM-9:00PM “S'mores & Skatin' & Sleddin” - FREE** Join the fun from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the West Yellowstone Ice Rink. Warm-up with hot beverages, toast some marshmallows, and make your own S'more. All the fixings provided. Bring your own sled for our Kid's Sledding Hill. Or, try out West Yellowstone's ice skating rink. Skates available. Old-fashioned family fun for everyone of every age. Location: Pioneer Park at the corner of Gibbon Ave. & Dunraven St.

10:00AM Finding Animal Tracks: Family Snowshoe Adventure – GWDC FREE
Use snowshoes, GPS, and compasses to seek out animal tracks in the snow.  Dress to be outdoors! This is a guided program. Ages 3-10. Children will meet our local sled dog team and enjoy a short ride through the woods. Klondike Dreams will be at the Old Airport (East end of town off Iris Street). There are a limited number of spaces available. Pre-register on the Contact Page on the website.
12:30PM GNF Snowshoe Walk – Boundary Trail - FREE
Recommended for kids ages 4-10. Lead by a Forest Service Snow Ranger, participants will enjoy an education hike along the groomed Boundary Trail and play some games. Meet at the Boundary Trailhead at the corner of Boundary and Gibbon. A limited number of snowshoes are available free of charge from the Chamber or others can be rented at: Freeheel & Wheel, Bud Lilly’s and Yellowstone Alpen Guides. Join us for fun and games at the community ice rink. Children of all ages welcome. Come dressed for outdoor conditions. Ice Rink is located at Pioneer Park at the corner of Gibbon Ave. & Dunraven St.
1:00-3:00 Snow Wall of Art – FREE - NEW
Break out your creativity and create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece on the snowy white canvas. Kids will be given a spray bottle full of water that is tinted with food coloring to decorate a snow wall. All ages welcome. Location: North east end of Pioneer Park near skating rink.

Wouldn't you love to learn a new winter sport? Children will learn basic skills from a local ski instructor that encourages them to try cross country and even downhill skiing. Children already skiing are welcome to attend to improve their skills and practice. The time will be spent on a groomed trail at Pioneer Park. Please pre-register on the Contact Page, and indicate sizes if you need boots and skis.
