West Yellowstone Ice Skating Rink & Sledding Hill (Weather Permitting). Skate rentals are available at Westmart. (open Friday, 8:00AM-5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00AM-Noon. Closed Sunday.) The rink is located at Pioneer Park at the corner of Gibbon Ave. & Dunraven St.

Open Daily Scavenger Hunt Pick up your clues at the KNS Headquarters at the West Yellowstone Visitor Center at 30 Yellowstone Avenue and venture around the town to find the hidden treasures. Take pictures of what you find and show them to the coordinator at the headquarters by 2pm Sunday for your prize!

3:30-5:00pm Ice Fishing Gathering & Games
Kids and their families are invited to meet some ice fishing professionals from the National Ice Fishing Circuit, learn about ice fishing and play games from 3:30-5:00pm at the Holiday Inn. Reel in the big one and get hooked on a new winter sport! Everyone welcome.

10:00AM Snowshoe Walk with a NPS Ranger (2hr) - FREE
Discover Yellowstone’s fascinating winter ecology while wearing snowshoes. Join a ranger for a 2-mile walk into Yellowstone National Park along the Riverside Trail. Meet at the West Yellowstone Visitor Information Center at the corner of Yellowstone Avenue and Canyon Street in West Yellowstone, Montana. no experience necessary. Also bring water and a snack. For information, please call 307-344-2876. Allow 2 hours for the program. A limited number of snowshoes are available free of charge from the Chamber (first come, first serve) or others can be rented at: Freeheel & Wheel. Feel free to bring your own snowshoes as well. Not recommended for small children.

Program is free and open to the public (stickers to show participation are available at the Chamber Kids'N'Snow desk). There is a fee to visit the rest of the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.. Located at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center at 201 South Canyon Street.
11:00AM Kids Ice Fishing Camp at Kirkwood – 1st group
Kids Ice Fishing Camp Ice Camp is a popular industry-leading youth education program that is open to the public, and free of charge.There will be two different starting times. The first group begins at 11:00 AM with classroom instruction and demonstration of ice fishing equipment, techniques, as well as safety, conservation and environmental stewardship. Then, everyone heads out onto the ice for fishing tutorials delivered by experienced, certified NAIFC Pro-Staff instructors. A second group will start in the classroom at 11:45, followed by the on-ice experience. A hot lunch will be served after on-ice demo’s and practice, between 12:30-1:30. Before leaving, all kids who participate will receive a complimentary ice rod and tackle. Make sure to dress warmly including waterproof footwear for this outside event. No registration required.

Kids from 6 - 11 years old can try out a child-sized Arctic Cat/Yamaha M120 Snowmobile setup for a slow, safe ride. All children must be accompanied by an adult and the adult must sign a release of liability. Recommend snow boots and gloves. Helmets provided. Location: Pioneer Park at the corner of Gibbon Ave. & Dunraven St.

2:00PM Afternoon Talk with a Park Ranger FREE
Join a ranger for a 45 minute program highlighting a fascinating aspect of Yellowstone’s natural, cultural, or scenic wonders. Program descriptions will be posted in the West Yellowstone Visitor Information Center (corner of Yellowstone Ave. and Canyon St.), and at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center at 201 South Canyon Street. Talks are free and open to the public. There is a fee to visit the rest of the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.

4:30PM Hollywood Feature Movie at the Yellowstone Giant Screen
Hollywood Feature Movie at the Yellowstone Giant Screen. Tickets required and can be purchased at the theatre. Discount coupons are available at the Kids’N’Snow Headquarters (Visitor Center). Theatre is located at 101 South Canyon, next to the Visitor Center.
6:00PM “S'mores & Skatin' & Sleddin” - FREE** Join the fun from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the West Yellowstone Ice Rink. Warm-up with hot beverages, toast some marshmallows, and make your own S'more. All the fixings provided. Bring your own sled for our Kid's Sledding Hill. Or, try out West Yellowstone's ice skating rink. Skates available. Old-fashioned family fun for everyone of every age. Location: Pioneer Park at the corner of Gibbon Ave. & Dunraven St.

** A limited number of ice skates will be available at the rink that night for free use. Please come early for the best selection.
6:30-7:30PM Sled Dogs – Meet & Greet, Photos Join Guide Nika and dogs from her sled team at the Town Park during that night’s festivities. Meet the dogs, learn about what they do, get your photo taken and even give them a treat!

Use GPS and compasses to seek out animal tracks in the snow. Dress to be outdoors! This is a guided program. Meet at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center at 201 South Canyon Street. 1:00 - 3:00PM Winter Games at the West Yellowstone Ice Rink – FREE
Join us for fun and games at the community ice rink. Children of all ages welcome. Come dressed for outdoor conditions. Ice Rink is located at Pioneer Park at the corner of Gibbon Ave. & Dunraven St.
1:00-3:00PM Snow Wall of Art – FREE
Break out your creativity and create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece on the snowy white canvas. Kids will be given a spray bottle full of water that is tinted with food coloring to decorate a snow wall. All ages welcome. Location: North east end of Pioneer Park near skating rink.
1:00-2:30PM M120 Kids Snowmobile Rides -FREE

Wouldn't you love to learn a new winter sport? Children will learn basic skills from a local ski instructor that encourages them to try cross country and even downhill skiing. Children already skiing are welcome to attend to improve their skills and practice. Please pre-register on the Contact Page, and indicate sizes if you need boots and skis. New Location: Rendezvous Trailhead Building
