Open Daily Christmas for the Critters at the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center. (December 1t – December 31st) at the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center. Help make the holidays more joyful by donating food for the enrichment of the bears and wolves (please call the Center specific needs). West Yellowstone Ice Skating Rink & Sledding Hill (Weather Permitting). Skate rentals are available at Westmart. (open Friday, 8:00AM-5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00AM-Noon. Closed Sunday.) The rink is located at Pioneer Park at the corner of Gibbon Ave. & Dunraven St.

Open Daily Scavenger Hunt Pick up your clues at the KNS Headquarters at the West Yellowstone Visitor Center at 30 Yellowstone Avenue and venture around the town to find the hidden treasures. Take pictures of what you find and show them to the coordinator at the headquarters by 2pm Sunday for your prize!

9:00AM West Yellowstone Sled Dog "Rodeo Run" Race - FREE
The yips of eager dogs will pierce the winter mornings as mushers prepare for the return of Sled Dog Races to West Yellowstone. Paws will pound as sleds and mushers head off down the trail. Come early at 8:30 am before the races start to watch the mushers get their teams harnessed and ready to start. Open Class out first followed by 6-Dog Class. Teams leave at 2 minute intervals.  All races start and finish at the Old Airport just west of Iris Street. Spectators welcome!
10:00AM Snowshoe Walk with a NPS Ranger (2hr) - FREE
Discover Yellowstone’s fascinating winter ecology while wearing snowshoes. Join a ranger for a 2-mile walk into Yellowstone National Park along the Riverside Trail. Meet at the West Yellowstone Visitor Information Center at the corner of Yellowstone Avenue and Canyon Street in West Yellowstone, Montana. no experience necessary. Also bring water and a snack. For information, please call 307-344-2876. Allow 2 hours for the program. A limited number of snowshoes are available free of charge from the Chamber (first come, first serve) or others can be rented at: Freeheel & Wheel. Feel free to bring your own snowshoes as well. Not recommended for small children.

Program is free and open to the public (stickers to show participation are available at the Chamber Kids'N'Snow desk). There is a fee to visit the rest of the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.. Located at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center at 201 South Canyon Street.

Kids from 6 - 11 years old can try out a child-sized Arctic Cat/Yamaha M120 Snowmobile setup for a slow, safe ride. All children must be accompanied by an adult and the adult must sign a release of liability. Recommend snow boots and gloves. Helmets provided. Location: Pioneer Park at the corner of Gibbon Ave. & Dunraven St.
1:30PM Snowshoe Walk & Games with USFS - FREE
Pick up snowshoes at the Chamber, meet at the truck pull out just north of town. Please pre-register on the Contact Page.
2:00PM Afternoon Talk with a Park Ranger FREE
Join a ranger for a 45 minute program highlighting a fascinating aspect of Yellowstone’s natural, cultural, or scenic wonders. Program descriptions will be posted in the West Yellowstone Visitor Information Center (corner of Yellowstone Ave. and Canyon St.), and at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center at 201 South Canyon Street. Talks are free and open to the public. There is a fee to visit the rest of the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.
2:45PM Owl Pellets – GWDC FREE
Program is free and open to the public (stickers to show participation are available at the Chamber Kids'N'Snow desk). There is a fee to visit the rest of the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. Located at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center at 201 South Canyon Street.
6:00PM “S'mores & Skatin' & Sleddin” - FREE** Join the fun from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the West Yellowstone Ice Rink. Warm-up with hot beverages, toast some marshmallows, and make your own S'more. All the fixings provided. Bring your own sled for our Kid's Sledding Hill. Or, try out West Yellowstone's ice skating rink. Skates available. Old-fashioned family fun for everyone of every age. Location: Pioneer Park at the corner of Gibbon Ave. & Dunraven St.

** A limited number of ice skates will be available at the rink that night for free use. Please come early for the best selection.

Hollywood Feature Movie at the Yellowstone Giant Screen. Tickets required and can be purchased at the theatre. Discount coupons are available at the Kids’N’Snow Headquarters (Visitor Center). Theatre is located at 101 South Canyon, next to the Visitor Center.

1:00-3:00 Snow Wall of Art – FREE
Break out your creativity and create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece on the snowy white canvas. Kids will be given a spray bottle full of water that is tinted with food coloring to decorate a snow wall. All ages welcome. Location: North east end of Pioneer Park near skating rink.

1:30 -2:30PM Learn to Ski Basics -FREE
Wouldn't you love to learn a new winter sport? Children will learn basic skills from a local ski instructor that encourages them to try cross country and even downhill skiing. Children already skiing are welcome to attend to improve their skills and practice. The time will be spent on a groomed trail at Pioneer Park.
